Printing and Purchase Info

All of the images on this site are available as traditional photographic prints or as archival digital prints, with a few exceptions. Unfortunately in the past I've done a less than stellar job in keeping my negatives in perfect condition. I've had some that have degraded beyond the means of traditional photographic printing. These are generally restricted to a select few color images and are designated with a small "d" that follows the catalogue number. For instance, the 7/15/84 Greek image of Phil singing is catalogue number 84058d. Therefore this image is only available as a digital print.
Also you'll notice that a few of the black and white images are digitally colored and or tweaked in some fashion. 10/3/83 jgb riverside 83017d is a good example of a black and white subtly colored, yet realistic. 4/13/84 Hampton 84005d is colored but more as a wash. 7/31/83 ventura 83004d is colored and hit with a filter to really tweak it. If you want an image colored or tweaked contact me and we can talk.

Traditional Color Prints
Color prints are printed by a custom lab on Kodak paper and are available in matte or glossy. If you have other preferences for paper please contact me and we can possibly arrange it. A hinged window matte in either white or black is available.

Traditional Black and White Prints
I personally print all the black and white. It is available on Ilford Multigrade Fiber base Glossy only. I use a cold light head, two bath developer, and all the prints are selenium toned for its archival and aesthetic qualities. The glossy is not really glossy, but more a luster. Most of the images can go to 11x14 fairly easily. For larger than 11x14 prints, contact me and I can let you know how your choice will hold together. Some of the images are taken with medium format negatives which means they can go to 20x24 no problem. The majority are 35mm shot under indoor concert lighting situations, which means they get real blurred and grainy at large sizes. The only option then is to digitally print them, which is not only spectacular but can be printed gigantic with virtually no loss.

Digital Prints
All the images are available as digital prints. The digital prints are printed on an Epson 2000P or 9500 using archival inks that are lightfast for 200 years. Again, they are spectacular and can go up to 44 inches wide. They are available on glossy, matte, or my favorite, Somerset photo enhanced watercolor. If you have another paper you want to use just let me know and I can try to accommodate you.

Matting
The Traditional Black and White Prints come mounted to an oversize 4-ply white mount board. An overlay board with a window cut in it is also available in either white or black.
The Color and Digital Prints are not mounted.
